  1. The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium

If you and your family love animals, check out the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium opened in 1927, and it’s a popular destination for summer fun and education. This zoo contains animals and exhibits that showcase the natural world in Asia, Australia, the Pacific islands, North America, Africa, and elsewhere. You can view wondrous creatures such as:

You can visit the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. in summer.

  1. Zoombezi Bay

You can cool down after a long day exploring the Columbus area at Zoombezi Bay. This beautiful, entertaining water park is full of attractions that the whole family will adore! Take your little ones to the Tiny Tides area. The Wild Tides Wave Pool is massive, and the Python Plunge is the steepest slide in the park. If you love water slides, the Baboon Lagoon is the place for you. It has 10 slides, an activity pool, a multi-level play structure, and 16 life-sized baboon figurines!

Take the Roaring Rapids Action River around the park to experience waterfalls and a wave generator. Adults can visit The Sandbar, a swim-up or walk-up bar with a heated pool. If you start to get hungry during your visit, head over to Coconut Joe’s, Dippin’ Dots, Boogie Beach BBQ, or The Surfside Grill. Whether they’re looking for a relaxing swim or an exiting ride, Zoombezi Bay is fun for kids and adults!

If you feel like communing with nature and getting some exercise, take a trip to Harrison Farm. It’s in Groveport, about 20 minutes away from Columbus, and it offers outdoor yoga classes surrounded by farm animals! As you meditate, you can spend time with chickens, goats, ducks, and cats. These relaxed classes are ideal for beginners, and they’re a great way to enjoy warm summer weather. This farm is a great place for you to find fresh eggs and produce as well!
