In addition to these updates, check out some of the reasons why the Toyota Highlander is the SUV for you.

  1. There Is a Model for Every Driver

The 2020 Highlander comes in five different trim levels. The base L has 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, LED taillights, and heated, power-adjustable side mirrors. The XLE adds a power moonroof and roof rails, while the Limited comes with 20-inch composite wheels, LED projector headlights, LED fog lights, puddle lights in the side mirrors, and a hands-free power liftgate. 1. It Has Lots of Power

For the 2020 model year, every Highlander has the 3.5-liter V-6 engine with 295 horsepower. It works with Toyota’s eight-speed automatic transmission and comes standard with front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is available for any trim, and if you have the L, LE, or the XLE, it’s a system that can transfer up to 50% of the torque to the rear wheels when it senses slipping.

  1. The Technology

The technology in the Highlander has something for everyone. An 8-inch touch screen comes standard and, new for 2020, so do Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Bluetooth with voice recognition allows the driver to control the audio while keeping their hands on the wheel, and everyone in the Highlander can reach one of the four USB ports when they need to. Step up to the XLE for a wireless Qi smartphone charging system, and this trim offers the option to add navigation. The Limited comes with a 120-volt power outlet and the option for a large 12.3-inch touch-screen display.

  1. It Has a Comfortable Cabin

The Highlander is a nice place to ride. The seats are comfortable, no matter where you sit. Cloth upholstery comes in the lower trims, with synthetic leather added to the XLE and leather to the Limited and Platinum. Heated seats are available, and in the higher-end trims, you can also get ventilated seats in the front, heated second-row seats, and a heated steering wheel.

  1. It Comes Standard with Advanced Safety Technology

All of the Highlander models come standard with a long list of advanced safety tech as part of the Safety Sense 2.0 suite. It includes lane-departure warning, forward collision warning, road sign reading capability, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane tracing assist, and adaptive cruise control. A blind-spot monitor is available, and you can also get a rear cross-traffic alert and a surround-view camera system depending on the trim.
