Performance
With outstanding fuel mileage estimates for a subcompact SUV, the 2021 Honda HR-V gets 28 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. With all-wheel drive, it gets 27 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.
Fuel economy is the HR-V's main advantage, but drivers don't have to make sacrifices for those numbers. The HR-V is fun to drive, has good composure during sharp turns, and handles great, thanks to both its small size and Honda's polished driving mechanics. The braking is sharp but controlled, while the suspension helps cancel out noise, bumps, and vibrations.
Interior
Front-wheel drive HR-V models have 24.3 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats, which is excellent for the subcompact category. With folded rear seats, that cargo space becomes 58.8 cubic feet. All-wheel-drive models have 23.2 cubic feet behind the rear seats and, depending on the trim, you get either 55.9 or 57.6 cubic feet with all seats down. Five adults will have plenty of legroom, and cloth upholstery comes standard, with leather available.
The cabin is appointed with modern textured surfaces and pleasant finishing. The standard infotainment system has easy-to-use physical controls with a 5-inch display, a USB port, Bluetooth, and a four-speaker stereo. A 7-inch touch screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, navigation, HD Radio, satellite radio, a six-speaker stereo, and a second USB port are available. Drivers can also upgrade the HR-V with proximity keyless entry, automatic climate control, remote start, and a moonroof.
