2023 GMC Sierra 1500

For 2023, GMC offers eight trims for the Sierra 1500: Pro, SLE, Elevation, SLT, AT4, AT4X, Denali, and Denali Ultimate. Starting with the base trim Pro, you get cab-mounted cargo lights, a CornerStep rear bumper, 17-inch Silver painted wheels, and a chrome front bumper. Opting for the SLE trim option adds cargo bed LED lighting, heated power outside mirrors, Bright Silver wheels, and a GMC MultiPro Tailgate with EZ lift assist.

The Elevation rolls down the road on 20-inch black high-gloss wheels and includes body-color bumpers while offering options like assist steps and an illuminated front GMC emblem. The off-road geared AT4 sits atop 22-inch wheels with a 2-inch factory lift, while the all-new Denali Ultimate will also include unique badging and an exclusive Vader Chrome grille.

The various trims have access to different engines offered by GMC for the 2023 Sierra 1500. The base engine is a high-output 2.7-liter engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission that puts out 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. Engine number two is the well-known EcoTec3 5.3-liter V-8 engine coupled with a 10-speed automatic transmission cranking out 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque.

The diesel offering for 2023 is a Duramax 3.0 turbo-charged diesel that garners 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque. Only available for the AT4X, a 6.2-liter V-8 produces 420 horsepower.

To help fuel economy, GMC added start/stop technology to the 2023 Sierra 1500 that shuts down the engine at idle. Beginning with the SLE, you'll find performance features like an optional Cat-Back performance exhaust system and an automatic locking rear differential. For most trims, rear-wheel drive is the standard offering, but to fully optimize your pickup, go with the available four-wheel drive. The AT4, designed specifically for off-road, adds features like Rancho monotube shocks and an off-road suspension system while garnering a 9,000-pound maximum towing capacity.

A hard-working truck can also be luxurious, as the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 illustrates. The SLT features a 12.3-inch driver information center and a 13.4-inch color touchscreen display, while the Elevation adds heated front seats. If you go with the AT4, you’ll find heated and ventilated front seats, a leather heated steering wheel, and a wireless charger are all standard. Finally, the top-of-the-line Denali Ulitmate adds upgrades and features such as a 12-speaker Bose sound system and an Alpine Umber interior with 16-way massaging power front seats.

The standard safety and driver-assistance features of the 2023 Sierra 1500 include a forward collision alert, an HD rear vision camera, a following distance indicator, and front pedestrian braking. In addition, all trims have standard safety features like an advanced airbag system and lane keep assist with a lane departure warning. Finally, you can also opt for safety features such as rear cross-traffic braking, rear pedestrian alert, lane change alert with side blind zone alert, and rear park assist.
