2023 Honda CR-V

The entry-level EX has 18-inch wheels, LED headlights, heated side exterior mirrors, a power sunroof, and LED taillights. The Sport has 18-inch alloy wheels and gloss black exterior trim elements, or you can step up to the EX-L for a power liftgate. Another bump to the Sport Touring gets you 19-inch gloss black wheels and a hands-free power liftgate.

The base engine for the CR-V is a 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder that puts out 190 horsepower. This powertrain works with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive and uses a continuously variable automatic transmission. The Sport and Sport Touring models have a hybrid powertrain made up of a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gas engine and two electric motors. These generate 204 horsepower. You can get front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive with the Sport, and the Sport Touring comes standard with all-wheel drive.

The CR-V is comfortable to drive and handles most road conditions with ease. The Sport Touring hybrid will accelerate from zero to 60 in just 7.9 seconds, and both hybrids can tow up to 1,000 pounds. Every CR-V has a hill-descent control system that will help the SUV reduce speed on slippery declines.

Inside, there's room for five in the CR-V. Honda stretched the wheelbase for the 2023 model creating extra legroom for the rear seat passenger. The front seats are comfortable and supportive. Standard cabin features include heated front seats, ambient lighting, and a power-adjustable driver's seat. Moving up the lineup adds a power-adjustable passenger seat, leather upholstery, and a heated steering wheel.

Technology features start with a 7-inch touch screen, a six-speaker stereo system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and two USB-C charging ports. The EX-L upgrades to a larger nine-inch touchscreen and adds a wireless charging pad, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with an eight-speaker stereo system. If you bump up to the Sport Touring, you'll get an upgraded Bose stereo and integrated navigation.

Every 2023 Honda CR-V comes with the Honda Sensing suite of active driver aids. This bundle includes a blind-spot monitoring system, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning, automatic braking, and lane-keep assist. It also comes with adaptive cruise control with low speed follow, a traffic sign recognition system, and a traffic jam assist feature that will keep the CR-V centered in the lane of travel and at a safe traveling distance from the car ahead.

Additional safety features include a multi-angle rearview camera, automatic brake hold, which holds the vehicle when you stop so you can let your foot off the brake, and it has automatic high-beam headlights.
